Meet Our Chefs
We are proud to introduce our chefs, Sarah Heard and Nathan Lemley, whose passion for great food began early in their childhood. Like many of us, they were fascinated by watching their moms and grandmas cooking traditional homestyle food every day, and just knew that this would be their future.
Crafting the Dish
Sarah and Nathan first met while working at local Chef Shawn Cirkiel’s super-popular restaurant, Parkside, in downtown Austin. There, both chefs gained greater knowledge of refined cooking techniques and what goes into running a successful business.
Over time, they fine-tuned their own style and they both developed a love for creating new dishes using the freshest of local meat, fish and vegetables as they are passionate about their green credentials.
Fast forward a few years, when Sarah and Nathan knew it was the right time to open their own restaurant. A place where they could create their own version of bold and creative Texas food, all delivered from farm to table in as short a timeframe as possible.
The dream became a reality in 2017, when the duo took over Foreign & Domestic. Since then, they have been serving appetising fresh dishes, where their approach to food has made F&D a great crowd-pleaser, with many customers being happy to return time and again to this restaurant in downtown Austin.

As you can see, we do not use a “typical” selection of ingredients, but these impeccable products are at the core of what we do and our daily inspiration for unique and satisfying food.
